What’s One Thing We Can All Do To Make The World Better?
My most favourite short film that I’ve ever watched is called “Validation” by Kurt Kuenne. I watched it on Youtube for the first time years ago. It was probably 12 or 13 years ago about the same time I was starting my filmmaking journey and I was watching short films on Youtube for inspiration. I’ve watched it many times since then.
Validation is an incredible uplifting film. Watch it and I’ll bet you are smiling by the end of it. I’ve shared it with several people in the past and it never failed to make them feel good.
Validation has inspired me in two ways.
First, I’ve always been wanting to make a short film someday that I hope will be as great and impactful on people as “Validation.”
Secondly, I’ve tried to be like the protagonist in the film and uplift people through validation. There was a point in my life that I think I was pretty good at it, but then like the protagonist I went through a period in my life where I was down and questioned “what’s the point?”
The point is we all need validation, and we all have the ability to give validation.
In a world that just keeps getting more depressed, maybe the one thing we can all do to create more smiles in the world is to simply start validating each other a little more.
Watch the short film and let me know what you think! Do you think more validation is what the world needs or is there something else more important?
Loved the film and your post!
One thing I do to make the world a better place is to smile at people and greet them when walking, and try to cheer up cashiers, waitresses, etc.
Great choice. Watched this many times over the years. Def one of my fave short films ever.
